Striking egg-shaped heirloom from France around 1850. Fruits are 5-6″ long with white and purple stripes, very beautiful. Excellent flavor and very thin skin, does not require peeling. This particular strain has been selected to perform well in a wide range of growing areas from California to Wisconsin to Georgia.
